From a gray businessman

to a colorful artist

In my mid-40s, I quit my job in the financial industry and reinvented myself. From a gray businessman to a colorful artist. I didn't plan it. But there was a desire for intensity and the longing for a creative life. And I just allowed it to happen. That takes courage and confidence. So that's what my art is all about. To have the courage to shape your life with self-confidence. Not thinking to much about the consequences and obstacles.

With my art, I want to encourage people to free themselves from well-known patterns and to boldly design their lifes. My paintings help the viewer to forget their doubts and to concentrate on what is possible.

Let it flow

I move between abstraction, minimalism and color field painting. When I start painting, I try to free myself from everything. No intention, no sketches, no rules. I only focus on the color and its effect. I pour and spray acrylic paints onto the wet canvas. The color finds its way into the picture. Sometimes wild, sometimes gentle, but always unexpected, it flows across the screen.

Layer by layer

My paintings usually consist of several layers. Sometimes I give the paint time to dry, sometimes I paint wet on wet. This creates structures with holes, cracks or stains in the different layers of paint. Layer by layer, the picture gets more and more character. As with every human being, their character becomes more interesting and unique with every facet.

Digital Playing

These paintings then often serve as the basis for my digital art. Using various digital tools, I disassemble, mix and recompose my images. This is how independent abstract collages are created.

Let things take their course. Go with the flow and look forward to the unexpected. Have courage to look beyond the familiar and not be afraid to create new realities. This applies to my art as well as to my way of life.
